It's the state of things today

We're all losing faith

We got nothing much to say

But we fill the space and it's Ok

Beyond the atmosphere so far, far away

We see ourselves for what we are

but we're afraid to change

Is that Ok?

It's a pale blue day here in the middle of the Milky Way

We're taking photographs of nothing at all, nothing at all

Gazing at the stars, where's the mystery?

You are Venus I am Mars, that's how it's meant to be

Or so they say

And the world gets smaller and the towers taller

But you and me stay the same

It's a hollow feeling when there ain't no meaning

But maybe there'll be truth in the pain

It's a Pale Blue Day here in the middle of the Milky Way

We're taking photographs of nothing at all

but junk for the wall

Like an exercise

there ain't no loving in your pale blue eyes

that we recognize
