The sights I've seen and the fights that there's been, And now I can't believe what I am seeing. After so much pain and so much gain, This wild dog now admits it's finally been tamed.
I can recall standing so proudly and defiant, Just a small man against an evil twisted giant. But soon more came and at least it did look to me, That a new dawn was coming, the dawn of the free.
Drowning in the tears of this dying race, I take a final look around this glorious place. Now my last goodbye as I turn and walk away, I did the best I could but I couldn�t save the day.
Victory after victory that�s how our river flows, But one day a battle�s lost, that�s how this story goes. And I watched the heads go down, friends turn and walk away, And I watched a darkened cloud descend upon our day.
So now I�m standing all alone and I am wondering why, So many of our kind can watch our nation die. Now I'll roam forever sad and so ashamed, And the honest truth is, we are all to blame.
