A friend of mine called one day to see if I was home
My wife said no not knowing I was on the other phone

I cried when I thought I had caught you being cruel
Why'd often tears are only trophies of a fool
Then I'd drank a bit said I'd forget the love we used to share
Wine speaks much louder than my tongue would ever dare
