The Letter

Daniella Mason

Words, being put onto paper
The things I couldn't say
Because your lips got in the way
Hands, writing words on the paper
Where they now hold a pen
Held you up and down again

I may have spoke too soon
But God, I hope I haven't written too late

I hope you haven't moved on yet
That you know what I regret
That you understand that all this time
I've been prayin' that you'll find
And believe the truth behind
The words that say it better
That's why I wrote this letter

Lost, can't get to where I'm goin'
I've never dealt with this before
Cause without you, I search no more
Speak, please speak
I know I'll hear your call
Your words cut like the sharpest knife
They bury me and bring me life

I know I spoke too soon
But you always said it's never too late

You said it's never too late
