Eighteen years of learning
And still I feel I know nothing
If anything I learned how to fit in
But I've started this journey
Searching for the truth

I could take the next step
The way I took my first
And life would be easy

It's like a bird in the nest
Who's too afraid to fly

It isn't easy, but we grow from the pain
It isn't hard to see the risk in making a change

Twenty-three years pretending
To be someone else
The man I thought I should be
I guess I finally realized
I didn't know myself
