I was running without looking back Just because I could only go like that I passed by people, children, adults I was leaving animals, villages, memories, doubts There was no more time to give up
I thought of everything I carried with me Dismay pervaded so strongly within
I used to live without this thought That soon I would leave no matter how I had fought I squirmed, I tried to go back But no, I just couldn't, nobody can go back And everytime the rain came gently and free Touching my skin I felt so peaceful to be To be water as well I realized the moment coming to me Dismay pervaded so strongly within
I was a river Wrapped in insane emotion Doomed to disappear I was a river Going in wild motion Doomed to disappear when facing the ocean
Then I saw in front of me what I feared I broke down, couldn't breathe and another way it couldn't be I couldn't stop I didn't think of anything I went through the night, there were no wings And all that I carried, everything Was about to fall down
I was a river And I didn't have the notion That I would beautifully become the ocean So the night fell The Sun came to tell And I saw the ocean was myself
