We walked down to the lake

On empty homes

Were splintered in

I'd hide out in the woods

Deep in the trees
I found a secret place
Cleared around a sitting stone

I'd climb so high
On ancient pines
I'd reach the top and look around

The trucks all came
And tore the trees out of the ground
