Smith And Pyle

The Show

Smith And Pyle

Cut out crowns of cardboard
Covered in tin foil
Momma go call the neighbors
There’s gonna be a show

Tee pees in the front yard
Purpose in our hearts
Tension builds as seats are filled
The show’s about to start

Clemson colored pom poms
Shake above our heads
Worn in sheets and blankets
Have been ripped from off our beds
Dancing round the pine cones
Breathin Southern air
Grandma’s scarves around our necks
Feathers in our hair

Lone little boy
Off to the side
Slow grin on his face
And a flag held high
Aint sure where to go
But knows how to stand
That little boy
He holds his flag like a man

Come to intermission
Sell some lemonade
Fifty cents a glass
And get a goody that our momma made

Line up for the finish
March in a big parade
Singin of our homeland
America the brave

Clemson colored pom poms
Shake above our heads
Worn in sheets and blankets
Have been ripped from off our beds
Dancing round the pine cones
Breathin Southern air
Grandma’s scarves around our necks
Feathers in our hair

Lone little boy
Off to the side
Slow grin on his face
And a flag held high
Aint sure where to go
But knows how to stand
That little boy
He holds his flag like a man

On American land
