No one could explain
Why she chose to fly away
From the place that she called home
To a place where she could not
Even understand a word
And she was all alone

But the angel will return on tired and happy wings
Her hopes set a little higher, her mind on better things

She dreams of the surprise
And imagines the flight
When she can spread her wings again
No more bound by land
Or words created by man
Only soaring towards the end

Falling asleep on a bed of stars
She wonders how the others are
They sent a letter or four
She could not ask for more
So she smiles as she saunters down the street
And she flies upon her feet
